Leak Detection and System Evaluation
Fluid and gas leakage costs in industry adds up to millions of dollars per year. To put it in perspective, in a facility using compressed air at 100 psig with electricity consumption cost of 6 cents per kilowatt-hour, a few small leaks can add up to more than $22,000 per year. Liquid leaks are fairly easy to spot, but gas leaks are more difficult to diagnose and repair. In addition, maintenance and safety concerns from inefficient fluid system layout and component installation could render even more severe risk to a company.
To address these concerns, we offer custom local fluid system evaluation services and leak detection to identify potential leaks at companies in Southern California. Combining audits with training can help identify process and installation issues leading to leaks, increasing safety and productivity for the long run.
For simple leak detection, our field engineers use a combination of an ultra-sonic leak detector gun and Snoop liquid leak detector to walk the floor with our customers and identify issues due to improper installation or failure. We work with you to address these issues via a report which contains analysis of the cost of leaks in your facility. Swagelok has conducted over 350,000 emissions surveys around the world in customer facilities, both with Swagelok and other manufacturer's fittings.
Local field engineers can also work with you on more robust evaluations, including review of system layout, installation techniques, standard operating procedures and product specification to pinpoint the causes of concern.
